Congratulations Lindsey!!

Lindsey had her preschool graduation ceremony yesterday. Her and her classmates marched in to "Pomp and Circumstance" while all the parents looked on. First the director handed out the diplomas. Each child walked up, shook her hand and got their diploma. Then all the kids stood up and sang three different songs. Afterwards they served refreshments. It was the cutest thing ever!! Mom and Dad were beyond proud. Just think in 13 short years, she'll be graduating from high school!!!

Above, is Lindsey and all her classmates waiting for their diplomas. Lindsey being a "Y" is in the very last row, first one on the right. All you can see is her blue cap, but I thought this picture of all them was cute. They look so old for 5 year olds! Below, is Lindsey and her teachers: Ms. Ellie and Ms. Mary. She adores them!

They passed!

The girls just finished their first session of swimming lessons. It was a rocky emotional start, but by the end they were loving it, submerging their heads under water and jumping in. Much to our surprise, they both passed level 1. Who knew that as parents, we could get so anxious and nervous for our children about simple things like passing their first swimming class.

Above the the class is playing a ring game, where the kids turn their backs to the teachers who are hiding all the rings. Then they turn around and try to find as many rings underwater as they can. (pretty exciting stuff!) Below they are getting ready to jump in!

A Day at Como

Last Sunday we made our first trip to Como of the year. The girls had a blast! First we did all the usual rides. We started out small so they could get used to rides again, first the cars, then the train. After seeing the animals and having some lunch, Lindsey was ready to do the merry-go-round and then the swings. Sydney wasn't quite sure of the swings. After a few times of going around with a look of uncertainty on her face, she started crying. The ride operator looked at me and I said--she's okay, she'll be fine. Then a few seconds later, she started yelling--"I'm scared!" Then we knew it was time to get her down, the poor thing. Maybe next time, after all she is only 3!

After a little dip-n-dots and cotton candy (which as you can see got all over their hands and faces), the scary swing ride was soon forgotten. It was a great day at the zoo.

Spring Hats

The girls love their new spring hats, but now if only it would get warm enough outside so they could wear them! Go away rain/snow/winter! We want spring!

Birthday Girl

We celebrated Lindsey's 5th birthday this past Saturday. The party started out with a treasure hunt outside. Which was really fun except for the 30 mile an hour wind and the icey hill on the side of our house that sent half the kids flying. Then we went back inside for dinner. We grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken breasts with french fries for the kids and cheesey potatoes for the adults.

After dinner opened presents which was Lindsey's favorite part. She was very excited to open all her presents including a new razor scooter, pink basketball, dress, High School Musical (HSM) dance mat, HSM backpack, HSM pajamas, HSM necklace, HSM 2 movie.... can you tell she likes HSM?? I think we have already watched HSM 2 five times since Saturday.

Then we had cake and ice cream. Lindsey requested a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. The HSM decor on the cake was far from perfect but Lindsey did not seem to mind. Next year though, I think I am going to finally stop pretending I can decorate and just BUY a cake!!!!

The party ended with all 7 kids playing a heated game of DVD Disney Bingo. I believe Abby and Sydney won, but it was a close one!!

THIRSTY????

Either Sydney is really thirsty in the picture above
or she was just copying what her Daddy, Auntie Teri and Grandma Jeanie
were doing a few weeks ago at Jeanie's 60th birthday party. (see picture below).
(Sorry, borderline inappropriate, but I just couldn't resist!!)
