T-ball

Lindsey played Spring t-ball again this year. This year Lindsey and Jordan (Lindsey's friend from preschool) were on the same team which made it a lot more fun. There can be a lot of waiting around when you have twelve 4-6 years olds on one team, so it was nice for them to have eachother to talk to and play in the dirt with. Below is a shot of Lindsey in "ready position," patiently waiting for a ball to come her way.

Here is Lindsey taking a swing at the ball during one of their games.

Each night after t-ball the girls would race down to the pond next to the ball fields to feed the ducks. Some nights I think they enjoyed feeding the ducks more than playing t-ball!

Congratulations Lindsey!!

Lindsey had her preschool graduation ceremony yesterday. Her and her classmates marched in to "Pomp and Circumstance" while all the parents looked on. First the director handed out the diplomas. Each child walked up, shook her hand and got their diploma. Then all the kids stood up and sang three different songs. Afterwards they served refreshments. It was the cutest thing ever!! Mom and Dad were beyond proud. Just think in 13 short years, she'll be graduating from high school!!!

Above, is Lindsey and all her classmates waiting for their diplomas. Lindsey being a "Y" is in the very last row, first one on the right. All you can see is her blue cap, but I thought this picture of all them was cute. They look so old for 5 year olds! Below, is Lindsey and her teachers: Ms. Ellie and Ms. Mary. She adores them!

They passed!

The girls just finished their first session of swimming lessons. It was a rocky emotional start, but by the end they were loving it, submerging their heads under water and jumping in. Much to our surprise, they both passed level 1. Who knew that as parents, we could get so anxious and nervous for our children about simple things like passing their first swimming class.

Above the the class is playing a ring game, where the kids turn their backs to the teachers who are hiding all the rings. Then they turn around and try to find as many rings underwater as they can. (pretty exciting stuff!) Below they are getting ready to jump in!

A Day at Como

Last Sunday we made our first trip to Como of the year. The girls had a blast! First we did all the usual rides. We started out small so they could get used to rides again, first the cars, then the train. After seeing the animals and having some lunch, Lindsey was ready to do the merry-go-round and then the swings. Sydney wasn't quite sure of the swings. After a few times of going around with a look of uncertainty on her face, she started crying. The ride operator looked at me and I said--she's okay, she'll be fine. Then a few seconds later, she started yelling--"I'm scared!" Then we knew it was time to get her down, the poor thing. Maybe next time, after all she is only 3!

After a little dip-n-dots and cotton candy (which as you can see got all over their hands and faces), the scary swing ride was soon forgotten. It was a great day at the zoo.
