Go Panthers!

Lindsey is playing soccer this summer for the first time. They play Monday and Wednesday nights. I think they are 1-4 right now, so they aren't the best, but they have fun together. Below is Lindsey and two of her teammates, Taylor and Jordan, hanging out on picture day.

Here is Lindsey (#1 in the pink visor) after just having kicked the ball.
Not the best picture since her back is to us, but you get the idea.

Below is Lindsey giving goalie a chance. She didn't let any balls get by her, but afterwards she decided playing goalie is not for her. The picture doesn't show it but it gets pretty intense being the goalie having to bend down and pick up the ball with all the other kids kicking away trying to get it in the goal.

Here is Lindsey and her teammate, Ali, waiting for the second half to begin.

At the end of each game they all shake hands

Then huddle up for a team cheer.

Picking Strawberries

A couple Saturdays ago we went to the Bauer Berry Farm which is actually only a mile from our house. It was our first time picking strawberries and it was a blast! We will definitely be back next year.

Here are Lindsey and Sydney with the neighbor girls Madison (8) and Jordan (6). They have a lot of fun together but I am pretty sure these four girls are going to be trouble in about 8 years.....

A Day On The Farm

Lindsey and Sydney never quite understood what Evan and Abby meant when they talked about going to their Grandma and Grandpa Kalthoff's farm. So on July 4th, we went and visited "the farm" so they could see what it was all about. The girls had quite the experience! The morning started off with all four kids taking turns on the big swing (see above). Next we had a tour of the barn. One thing we learned for sure is that those steers have VERY long tongues. Don't stand too close or they might just lick you where you least expect it!

After the tour of the barn, Uncle Dave took the kids on a tractor ride.

Then came a walk through the corn field.

The morning ended with a ride on the four-wheeler. Who knew Uncle Dave could fit all four of them on there at once!

The girls had a great time. They learned that living on a farm is certainly a completely different lifestyle than we are used to here in the city. Thanks again Bob and Renee for letting us come visit!!
