DISNEYWORLD 2010

For those of you who have not ventured to the dark side (Facebook) I've posted some pictures from our trip to Disney. The weather wasn't the warmest, but we still had a great time. Above are the girls by the community pool in our town home complex. Notice no one swimming! It was too cold for that pool, but we were able to swim in the heated splash pool behind our town home. The girls swam everyday we were there including right before we left. They went from swimming in the pool in the morning on that last day to playing in the snow when we got back to MN. Below is a picture of the town home and the Nissan Xterra we rented.
We saw Minnie at least 4 times. Sydney is in love with her. Here she is at Animal Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom...

Sydney on the carousal at Magic Kingdom.

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's. The girls got to meet Goofy, Minnie, Mickey, Pluto and Daisey. I don't think they ate much as they were too busy hugging all the characters.

Epcot. Not a very good picture as it was very sunny.

And...Mickey at Hollywood Studios.

Those are just a few of the pics. We have 700 more!

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY SYDNEY!

The long awaiting day finally came and went. Sydney was SO excited for her birthday. With her birthday right after Christmas we had no idea what to get her but decided on an American Girl Bitty Baby and she fell in love it at first sight. Even at age 5 she still loves her baby dolls. The night of her birthday we let her choose where she wanted to go for dinner. Of course her choice was the McDonald's in Anoka with the play tree house even though personally the place kind of freaks me out! But it was her birthday and so off we went. Dinner was followed by presents and her big birthday cookie. I for one was thrilled that she chose cookie over cake! Yum!

The Saturday after her birthday we had a friend birthday party for her at Build-A-Bear Workshop. If anyone is thinking of doing a party here, I would highly recommend it. It was pretty stress-free and all the girls seemed to love it.

Since it was a Minnie Mouse themed party (kind of, just the plates and napkins), Sydney INSISTED that she MUST wear her Minnie ears. It was her birthday party, so the ears won.

After the party at Build-A-Bear we went up to the food court and had brownies and opened gifts. It was so much better than having everyone in our house. Parties outside the home are the way to go!! 2 hours, done, no mess, happy parents and happy child!
