HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

Happy Belated Halloween from the Candy Corn Witch and Minnie Mouse!!

That looks like a lot of candy, but we had 184 trick or treaters this year, we needed almost all of it!

We went with a bunch of neighbors again this year and had a blast. The girls were so fast this year. They made it to about 50 houses within an hour!

SNOW IN OCTOBER==YUCK!!

Now that the snow is long gone, I can post these pictures. I for one was not happy to see the snow that October morning, but the girls were so thrilled to see the white stuff, I couldn't help but smile.

This picture below was from the snow fall 2 days later. Note how they used ALL the snow in the front yard for those two little snow men.

To think this was only a month ago....

Here are some pictures from our Wisconsin Dells trip we took at the beginning of September. To think that was only a month ago. I would LOVE to have that weather back right now!! We stayed at the Wilderness and had a great time! The girls loved the outdoor water slides, especially the one pictured towards the bottom. We will definitely go back again!

First Day

Here is Lindsey on her first day of first grade. She had a great first day and didn't even cry at drop off. Mom of course was holding them back!! I did lose the battle on the first day of school outfit. I wanted her to wear a pretty dress and she insisted on the "Girls Rule Big Time" shirt. Oh well, we as Moms know we have to pick our battles...

The Mighty Mississippi

I had to post this picture as I just love it. The girls look so peaceful and content playing in the mighty Mississippi. If they only knew how dirty that water was!

SOCCER

The girls have been enjoying playing soccer this summer. Sydney especially loves playing goalie. She surprised me and actually does quite well even though she is one of the smallest on her team. See below for a picture of her in goal (not the best picture but you get the idea).

Slip 'n Slide

Here are some pictures of the girls enjoying their new slip 'n slide. (sorry I know some of you have already seen these pictures on Facebook.)

The Parade

The Champlin Parade is now a tradition for our family. The girls look forward to it every year (for the candy of course). This year we went with the neighbors and had a blast! Above are Sydney, Teagan and Lindsey anxiously waiting for the parade to begin with their bags in hand ready to run after that candy!
Above are the girls watching the parade intently. Perhaps you noticed the purple crown on Sydney's head. She has a pink one and a purple one and she has been wearing them almost non-stop for the last month. Every where we go people ask her if she is a princess. She just smiles, nods and says--yes, EVERY DAY!

Last Day of K

Okay I am WAY behind on posting, but even though it was a month ago I still have to still post the pictures from Lindsey's last day of Kindergarten as it was a HUGE milestone.

Above is Lindsey receiving her diploma from her teacher, Mrs. K. Below is Lindsey and her friend Grace showing off their diplomas.
The parents were invited to a picnic lunch, but because it rained we all ate on the floor in the cafeteria. The kids thought it was pretty cool!

"Spired Milk"

Funny story-this morning when Sydney was drinking her milk at breakfast, she made a funny face and said "oh, Mom, I think this milk is spired!"

EASTER

I know, I know Easter was how many weeks ago! Time just gets away from us... Anyways, here they are, pictures from Easter. These first two are from the night we dyed eggs. The girls just love it! Luckily it was nice enough and we were able to do it outside on the deck. The less mess the better I say!

We celebrated Easter with the Youngs the Saturday before Easter. The kids all wore the outfits that Grandma Jeanie bought for them while her and Grandpa were in Florida. Auntie Suzie and Great Grandma stopped by for a little while. The kids had fun playing outside and as usual, the Easter egg hunt was a hit!

We spent Easter Sunday with the Nystroms. We lucked out with a super gorgeous day! The girls almost didn't need those sweaters I spent hours shopping for. Who knew that the week before Easter every white sweater in every store I looked would be gone! Tons of dresses left, but no sweaters. What is up with that? Shouldn't they make an equal number of sweaters and dresses? Luckily I was able to find a small rack with only 4 left and even better, 2 in the sizes I needed. Whew! That will teach me to wait until the last minute!

Sydney and Payne

Sydney was so proud to finally hold our godson, Payne the other weekend. Every time we see Payne I ask Sydney if she wants to hold him and every time, she says no, no, no. Finally she said yes and I think she was happy she did! Can you tell by the huge smile on her face!
On a completely different note, I have to tell this story. Anyone who knows Sydney knows that she has quite the spunky personality. Usually she is a happy go lucky child, but she also has her dramatic meltdowns over the silliest things like what color bowl she is going to eat out of. Anyways, the other day she said to me "Mom, I love you past the clouds, WAAAAAAAY up to Jesus and back" and her arms were spread apart as far as possible. It was about the sweetest thing ever. All it takes is one of those moments, and for all I care that girl can have any color bowl she wants!

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY LINDSEY!

It is hard to believe my baby is 6 already!!! I told her "That is it, you cannot get any older!!" She just laughed and said in a matter of fact tone "Soon I will be 7 Mom."

Lindsey's birthday started out with the traditional toaster strudel with candles on it. I am not sure when that started but now for every birthday both girls insist on a toaster strudel with "fire" on it for their birthday breakfast. After school she wanted me to be sure to pick her up right at 4:30 so we would have time to pick up McDonald's for dinner, open her presents AND get to family fun night at school by 6. Family fun night was very crowded but Lindsey had a blast with all of her kindergarten friends. Here is her doing the locomotion on the dance floor. What happened to my once shy preschooler???

The next day we had a friend party for Lindsey at our house. We had 13 crazy girls running around, literally! Lindsey wanted to invite all of the girls from her kindergarten class, which made sense so no one felt left out, but who knew they would all be able to come! We made the most out of it and spent lots of time outside!

The girls decorated crowns, had an egg hunt, and just enjoyed being with each other. Lindsey really got lucky and has a good group of girls in her class! What a relief as a parent to see your child making and maintaining friendships, as friends are definately one of the most important things in life. Happy Birthday Lindsey!!!!

Our Disney Vacation

We just got back from an absolute awesome time at Disney. The best part had to be the weather. Just being able to be outside without the hats, mittens, snow pants, etc. was unbelievably nice especially after all that snow we got the day before we left. The first day we were there it was 85 which was quite a shock to these MN bodies, but it was great. The rest of the week was in the 70's but still felt amazing and was perfect for park hopping. Above is a picture of the condo we stayed at and you can see the beautiful blue van the girls picked out the the right. We let them pick the color and for some reason they wanted blue. The positive part of that was we could easily find our car in the parking lot at the parks. Below is a picture of the community pool at the condo unit. We also had a private splash pool behind our condo unit.

Our first stop on our first day in Florida was unfortunately the minute clinic. We suspected Lindsey had strep the night before we left and she did end up having it, BUT she was such a trooper. An hour after we were at the doctor, we were at Magic Kingdom taking pictures in front of the castle. Nothing was going to stop that girl from seeing the castle and the princesses.

We spent part of Saturday at Magic Kingdom and part of it swimming since it was so nice. Sunday we had breakfast with the princesses at the castle. The girls LOVED meeting Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine and Cinderella. Monday we went to Animal Kingdom and Tuesday we went to Epcot where we had dinner with the princesses. Needless to say at this point in the trip David was getting a little princessed out and had to go find himself a margarita in Mexico!

Wednesday we went to Hollywood Studios and Thursday we spent the morning at Magic Kingdom and the afternoon swimming. The girls absolutely LOVED swimming. They must have jumped in and out of the splash pool 50 times.

We took over 600 pictures, so if anyone wants to see more, let me know!! :) We would highly recommend this trip to anyone, especially if you have little princesses.
